Golden Gate, Florida is a census-designated place in Collier County, Florida. While Golden Gate is a small community, consisting of just four square miles, it is ideally located. Golden Gate is nestled between the pristine beaches of Naples / Marco Island, the Everglades National Park, Big Cypress Preserve, and the Collier-Seminole State Park. Golden Gate bears a Naples mailing address. 

The Calusa Indians once flourished in the area in and around Golden Gate. Later pioneer settlers established cattle ranches, fished, and farmed the region. Beginning in the 1920s, relaxing on the pristine sand beaches and excellent fishing began to draw more and more people to Collier County. Today, Golden Gate and the rest of Collier County is easily accessible by highway or air. The Southwest Florida International Airport is located in nearby Fort Myers. The Collier County Airport Authority also operates three airports in the region: the Marco Executive Airport, the Immokalee Regional Airport and the Everglades Airpark in Everglades City. The Naples Municipal Airport is also convenient for visitors and residents. Main access to the area is via I-75, known as Alligator Alley. Golden Gate can also be reached from Miami via U.S. Highway 41, also known as the Tamiami Trail

Golden Gate is adjacent to the Paradise Coast, which includes Naples, Marco Island, and the western portion of the Everglades. Outdoor recreational opportunities abound as 80 percent of this region is preserved as park and nature preserve land. The surrounding region also features fantastic shopping, great dining and beautiful resorts.
The U.S. Census Bureau estimates the 2007 population of Golden Gate, FL at 25,312 residents. Golden Gate is a family community. In 2007, there were 7,000 households in Golden Gate CDP. The average household size was 3.6 people. Families represent 70 percent of the population, giving Golden Gate a higher-than-average concentration of families. The median income of households in Golden Gate CDP was $46,786.

The Collier County Public School District serves Golden Gate, Florida with Golden Gate Elementary, Golden Gate Middle and Golden Gate High School. According to Sperling's Best Places, Golden Gate public schools spend $6,266 per student. The average school expenditure in the U.S. is $6,058. There are about 18 students per teacher in Golden Gate. The campuses of Florida Gulf Coast University and Southwest Florida College are located nearby in Fort Myers.

The Florida State Courts System is divided into 20 judicial circuits or areas of jurisdiction. Florida has two appellate courts.  Florida's Supreme Court, the state's highest court, hears civil and criminal appeals from the lower courts. The court also answers constitutional questions and rules on the validity of statutes and on the construction of the state or U.S. constitutions. The state's five District Courts of Appeal, headquartered in Tallahassee, Lakeland, Miami, West Palm Beach, and Daytona Beach, hear all matters not directly appealable to the Supreme Court, as well as final actions of state agencies.

Florida has a two-tier trial court system of Circuit and County courts. The state's Circuit Courts hear felonies, family law matters, civil cases involving amounts over $15,000, probate, guardianship and mental health issues, juvenile dependency and delinquency issues and appeals from County Court. The state's County Courts hear misdemeanors, small claims of up to $5,000, and civil cases of up to and including $15,000 in controversy, as well as traffic cases. Examples of civil matters include hospital negligence, surgical malpractice, automobile accidents, truck accidents, work injury, dog bites, and professional liability lawsuits.
